How do you folks find decent tow companies? I usually have called my insurance roadside if it’s something they cover but I’m trying to get the Fiat back from the dealership and I have no idea how this works.
(This assumes they’ll finally fucking contact me before I have to get FCA corporate involved, so I guess we’ll see...)

I go through my AAA. I figure they have incentive to behave decently if they want to keep on AAAs list. It’s worked for me so far. I’d guess y our roadside can at least give you the name of the company they would use, even if your tow isn’t covered by road side assistance in this case.
Also, towing back home from the dealership? That seems bass-ackwards. Did I mi ss something that killed the Fiat?

These guys were really great and would use them again. Denver might be out of their range, though. I honestly don’t know. I just googled tow truck companies and they were c lose to where I was.
That just seems like such a shitty situation. Mind if I ask which dealership so I can avoid them with my 500? I guess there are only about three of them anyways.

Yeah, State Farm just calls any local contractor who is available. I don’t think I remember the folks who towed it to the dealership.
And I’m pretty sure it has a blown engine but my original service tech got fired within a day or two of them getting my car and I’ve spent two months leaving messages in the service department and no one will call me back. I’m trying to contact the dealership owner directly today.

If the dealership has given you a timeline to get it out of there then I would call a local tow company, even better if it’s a small one, with a couple of decent reviews (hopefully indicating they didn’t buy a bunch of reviews) and give them the same timeline minus one day. They will grab it when it’s convenient for them (just dropped off another car nearby) and you can probably haggle a bit on the price since you just eliminated the mileage to pick up. FWIW I’ve only done that once but it did work.

Damn, it’s like they’re allergic to making money.
I must have missed the blown engine if you posted it. That’s a bitch and a half. I hope you can get it sorted.

That looks like it was at least a scenic tow! I’ll look them up.
Only two Fiat dealers left and they’re both trash. AutoN ation tried to charge me for a bunch of repairs by not fully connecting my battery and claiming it was broken . Larry H Miller currently has the car.
Mike Ward was originally awesome but decided Fiat is now beneath them. If you ever decide to buy a Mclaren they’re super helpful.

I’m on the fence between selling it as-is or trying to find someone to source a used engine and then selling it. I don’t want the car anymore if no one trustworthy will work on them. I’m so over it.

Yeah, no timeline. They just won’t fu cking return my calls, period. They’ve been so shitty I feel like they should pay for the tow but I doubt that’ll happen.

There is nothing more Oppo than Italian car owners sharing which tow company is best.

I’m sorry it came to that.
